Situation

During my internship at a digital marketing agency, I was initially assigned to both consumer and business accounts. I found that working on the B2B accounts for a logistics company was more intellectually stimulating because it required deeper research and a focus on relationship-building through content.

Task

I had to articulate why I preferred B2B marketing and demonstrate an understanding of its distinct communication style.

Action

I explained that B2B marketing appeals to me because it involves educating and solving complex problems for professional buyers. Unlike B2C, which often relies on emotional triggers and impulse, B2B requires logical argumentation, evidence, and a longer nurturing process. I shared an example of how I developed a whitepaper for the logistics client that addressed supply chain inefficiencies, which felt more rewarding than a flashy social media ad.
