Then I led with my most relevant experience from the market research firm, where I analyzed consumer data for a beverage brand and recommended a pricing change that grew their market share by 3%. I explained how that mirrored a consulting case: hypothesis, analysis, recommendation. I mentioned how my FMCG role taught me to work under tight deadlines and with diverse teams, and how my government project involved stakeholder management and presenting to senior officials. I kept each story brief, using facts and numbers, and ended with why this background makes me ready for consulting.

Result

The interviewer followed up on my pricing recommendation, and I was able to elaborate on the analysis. I felt they saw a clear through-line in my resume. I progressed to the final round.
