Then build the estimate from a reasonable top-down base: an approximate online-shopper population in the Philippines, multiplied by an assumed percentage who are active Shopee users, multiplied by an estimated average number of orders each places on a major sale day (typically several times their normal daily rate due to flash deals and vouchers). State every assumption out loud as you go, since the interviewer is grading your reasoning process, not the final number. Cross-check the result against general knowledge of e-commerce scale in the region to see if it feels plausible, and adjust an assumption if the number seems off by an order of magnitude. Close by naming the two or three assumptions your estimate is most sensitive to.

If average orders per shopper is 1.5, that's 10.5M orders. I cross-checked with a top-down approach: total retail market, online share, etc. My final estimate was around 10 million orders.
Result
The interviewer seemed satisfied with my structured approach and did not challenge my assumptions heavily. It demonstrated my comfort with ambiguity and quantitative reasoning.
