Philippine-specific tips for this role
- ▸ Don't say 'Sir/Ma'am, for a small additional cost you will get many benefits for your company.' That sounds pushy and generic. Instead, ask one discovery question first, like 'What's the biggest challenge your team faces with project deadlines right now?' then connect your solution to that.
- ▸ Avoid saying 'It doesn't affect me because I just don't care about what people say.' In BPO culture that sounds defensive. Instead, be honest that it stings a little but you have a system, a short break or a self-check, to keep going without letting it build up.
- ▸ Don't rush through 'Good morning sir/ma'am how are you today I hope you are having a good day' in one breath; that sounds canned. Instead, state your purpose upfront and then ask a short, related question that gives the prospect control, like 'Is now a bad time or do you have a minute?'
Sample questions
Alright, let's do a quick role-play. I'm a client from one of our software partner companies. You're calling me because my company's annual subscription for our project management tool is about to expire. I'm skeptical because I'm not sure we really need the premium upgrade you're offering. Go ahead and try to sell it to me over the phone.
