Philippine-specific tips for this role
- ▸ Filipino candidates often downplay their individual contribution. They might say 'Sobrang dami naming ginawa, pero team effort talaga,' which obscures their specific role. Instead, use 'I led the research and coordinated with six markets, which resulted in a 40% adoption increase' to own your impact while acknowledging collaboration.
- ▸ Candidates sometimes give generic values like 'hardworking' without linking them to a real decision. Or they may slip into Taglish: 'Basta honest lang ako palagi, po.' Instead, name a specific value like 'transparency' and illustrate it with a concrete leadership moment, entirely in English.
- ▸ Candidates may over-apologize or use phrases like 'Sorry, but I think we should prioritize...' which weakens their authority. Some might say 'Medyo magulo kasi sila, parang di nagkakaintindihan' in an attempt to explain. Instead, frame recommendations confidently: 'Based on the data, a phased rollout will mitigate risk while meeting 80% of revenue goals.'
- ▸ Candidates often present data without a story: 'According to the survey, 30% said...' They might also insert Taglish fillers like 'Parang naisip ko lang na baka security yung issue.' Instead, synthesize: 'Our data revealed that security concerns, not features, were blocking deals, so I refocused the campaign.'
